Since serving as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, Abigail Spanberger has shown a deep commitment to protecting Virginia’s communities from gun violence.

She understands that a complex issue like the gun violence epidemic requires comprehensive solutions.

While serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Spanberger supported legislation to:

  1. Require universal Brady Background Checks
  2. Ban assault weapons and large-capacity magazines
  3. Mandate secure gun storage

We need gun violence prevention champions like Rep. Spanberger now. This year, the current Virginia administration, led by Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, vetoed more than 20 common-sense gun violence prevention bills that would have banned ghost guns, promoted secure storage, held the gun industry accountable, and more.

In contrast, Rep Spanberger said:

I will sign legislation into law to make progress on these issues to keep Virginia families safe. I will not veto common-sense proposals like our current governor has done.

The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Spanberger for governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
