Growing up in Northern Virginia, Delegate Adele McClure was exposed to the systemic inequalities faced by vulnerable populations, and she is passionate about solving those problems.
She recognizes gun violence as a public health crisis and advocates for reform that involves community intervention efforts and expanded aid for mental health issues.
As a Virginia State Delegate, she authored bills to:
- Close the boyfriend loophole, which allows some domestic abusers to maintain access to firearms
- Require firearm locking devices alongside the sale or transfer of a firearm
- Ban assault weapons and large-capacity magazines
