Assemblywoman Annette Quijano has long been an advocate for gun violence prevention.

As a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, Assemblywoman Quijano:
- Co-sponsored the New Jersey Safe Storage of Firearms Act
- Was the primary sponsor on AJR144, which designated June as Gun Violence Awareness Month
- Fought to pass legislation to implement firearm microstamping, a revolutionary technology that marks bullets to aid law enforcement in tracing guns recovered from crimes and solving homicide cases
