As a vice chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Rep. Bobby Scott has guided Congress to enact life-saving legislation.
An experienced legislator, Rep. Bobby Scott has been instrumental in advocating for some of the most important federal legislation preventing gun violence. As Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Rep. Scott supported an assault weapons ban, prohibiting large capacity magazines, blocking firearm purchasing loopholes, and helping communities get rid of unwanted firearms. He also introduced the Virginia Plan to End Gun Violence.
Rep. Scott said:
Too many families and communities have had their lives shattered by gun violence.The Commonwealth of Virginia has taken a number of successful legislative actions in recent years to help curb gun violence in our communities. This legislation will build on those successes at the national level, so that we can try to finally end this epidemic.
