As a proud union worker and organizer, Brian Poindexter knows what it takes to deliver results for Ohio.
Poindexter has deep community ties rooted in his working-class experience.
During high school, he worked double shifts each night and later earned his Associate's Degree in Applied Industrial Technology from Cuyahoga Community College. Working later as a union organizer for Ironworkers Local 17, he focused on bringing benefits to those without representation and now passes on those skills to the next generation.
Poindexter won the election in 2017 to be the at-large member of the Brook Park City Council, where he brings passion, drive, and dedication to his local government. He has been a vocal critic of Ohio’s concealed carry law, calling it “a terrible piece of legislation with a fuzzy name on it.” As a champion for his community, Poindexter supports an assault weapons ban and efforts to strengthen Brady Background Checks.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Brian Poindexter in his campaign to represent Ohio’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
