Assemblyman Chris Tully has been a steadfast supporter of gun safety legislation since he joined the General Assembly in 2018.
He has proudly voted to continue New Jersey’s legacy as a leader in gun violence prevention, but he also knows there is more work to be done. Like so many other communities in New Jersey, he knows his constituents are fed up with the consistent toll of gun violence. And he is ready to work to end it.
As Assemblyman, Tully has:
- Been the Prime Sponsor of A2338, which establishes the "Responsible School Violence Prevention, Preparation, and Protection Pilot Program" to help prevent school shootings
- Advocated to bolster the state’s concealed carry permitting system, banning firearms from sensitive public places, like preschools, playgrounds, parks, and hospitals
- Supported legislation to implement firearm microstamping, a revolutionary technology that marks bullets to aid law enforcement in tracing guns recovered from crimes and solving homicide cases
