Over his nearly two decades in public service, Assemblymember Damon Connolly has long been a gun violence prevention champion, having supported many gun violence prevention bills throughout his career.
One of his greatest victories was getting California Assembly Bill 92 passed and signed into law. This law ensures that anyone who is prohibited from purchasing a gun in the state is also prohibited from purchasing or owning body armor — an accessory that gunmen have been increasingly using in major mass shootings, like the one in Buffalo, NY, that killed 10 Black Americans who were simply shopping for groceries.
Assemblymember Connolly said:
I am committed to continuing to advocate to protect our communities from gun violence.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Assemblymember Connolly in his campaign to represent the 12th California Assembly District.
