Rep. Dan Goldman has demonstrated a deep commitment to protecting New York communities from gun violence.
As vice chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and chair of the Dads Caucus Gun Violence Prevention Working Group, he has championed life-saving gun violence prevention laws, like a ban on assault weapons and universal background checks.
During the 119th Congress, Rep. Goldman introduced the PROSPER Act (H.R. 3039), which would invest in community violence intervention groups, and the Preventing Pretrial Gun Purchases Act (H.R. 4173), which would close a federal loophole by preventing individuals on pretrial release from purchasing guns.
