As a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Rep. Grace Meng has strongly advocated for gun violence prevention measures during her tenure in Congress.
Rep. Meng has used her position on important committees to secure funding for gun violence prevention initiatives at both the state and federal levels, and now has stood up to the Trump Administration as they try to cut funding.
Rep. Meng said:
Gun violence remains the leading cause of death for kids and teens across the country. That's unacceptable.
Rep. Meng also introduced the Aaron Salter Jr. Responsible Body Armor Possession Act on the two-year anniversary of the hate-filled Buffalo Supermarket massacre. The legislation is named in honor of the late officer Aaron Salter Jr., who died trying to protect his community after his bullets were deflected by military-grade armor worn by the Buffalo shooter. This legislation would keep such body armor out of the hands of mass shooters, helping keep law enforcement safe.
