Rep. Greg Casar has long been a champion of the gun violence prevention movement.
Before being elected to Congress, Rep. Casar served on the Austin City Council, where he supported the creation of a Gun Violence Task Force, expanded gun violence prevention programs, and created a new Office of Violence Prevention.
He has continued that work on the federal level. He is a proud co-sponsor of the Assault Weapons Ban, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and Ethan’s Law — which would mandate secure firearm storage to prevent unintentional shootings and firearm suicide.
Rep. Casar said:
We must end gun violence. No child, no parent, no community should have to go through what happened in Uvalde. Every single lawmaker at every level of government should support gun reform to make our communities safer and prevent tragic, destructive shootings like this.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Greg Casar for reelection to represent Texas’ 35th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
