Going back to his time serving in the Maryland state senate, Rep. Raskin has always fought to protect the safety of Maryland communities. There, he worked to introduce and pass legislation that banned assault weapons, instituted a universal violent criminal background check on all gun purchases, and made it a crime to fail to report a lost or stolen gun within 48 hours.
