Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel is a co-signer of Brady’s “Dads for Gun Safety” campaign, is a steering committee member of Legislators for Safer Communities, and is a committed gun violence prevention champion.
Assemblymember Gabriel has been instrumental in the California General Assembly, introducing many common-sense gun violence prevention bills that have been signed into law. One includes AB 2617, which will further protect those in crisis by making out-of-state extreme risk orders enforceable in California.

Assemblymember Gabriel also authored the Gun Violence Prevention and School Safety Act. This first-in-the-nation measure taxes gun industry profits to fund gun violence prevention and school safety. The law is expected to generate $160 million annually to fund critical violence prevention programs. Assemblymember Gabriel is also the co-founder of California’s Gun Violence Working Group to help make California a national leader in gun violence prevention.
