Rep. Larson has been a longtime advocate for gun violence prevention.
In 2016, he helped organize a 25-hour, historic sit-in on the House floor to demand votes on gun safety legislation. In the 118th Congress, Rep. Larson introduced the Assault Weapon Financing Accountability Act (H.R. 4289), which would ban the use of ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ finance options for the purchase of assault weapons and ghost gun kits.
Rep. Larson said:
There is a gun violence epidemic in our country. Here in Connecticut, we know the pain all too well: the horrific murder of twenty school children and six faculty members at Sandy Hook Elementary school is seared into our memories. Across the country, we have mourned the loss of tens-of-thousands of adults and children to gun violence on our streets. Enough is enough.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. John Larson for re-election to represent Connecticut’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
