Rep. Kathy Castor is a lifelong Floridian and a champion for common-sense gun legislation.
Growing up in Tampa Florida, Rep. Castor uniquely understands the threat that gun violence poses on our communities.
Rep Castor said:
Gun violence has been all too common in America for decades without action from policymakers [...] A large bipartisan majority of Americans agree that weapons of war do not belong on the streets and people in all communities should be kept safe.
That is why Rep. Castor cosponsored both the Bipartisan Background Check Act and the Enhanced Background Checks Act, which would close the Charleston loophole that enabled a gunman to purchase a firearm that led to the killing of 9 people during a Bible study in South Carolina’s oldest black church.
As a proven advocate for common-sense gun regulation, the Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Castor in her reelection to Florida's 14th Congressional District.
