Gov. Hochul has long been a champion of gun violence prevention.
Under Gov. Hochul’s guidance, New York has become a leader in the gun violence prevention movement, passing critical laws that prevent gun violence and acting as a blueprint other states can follow.
Gov. Hochul said:
Keeping New Yorkers safe is my top priority — and with record investments and strong partnership with law enforcement, we’ll keep driving down gun violence to record lows. I remain committed to working with law enforcement and all stakeholders to ensure safer streets and communities for families throughout every corner of our state.
While serving as Governor, Gov. Hochul invested $3 billion into public safety, removed more than 10,000 illegal guns off of New York streets, strengthened and expanded extreme risk laws, and passed landmark legislation to ban the 3D printing of ghost guns. Gov. Hochul promises New York communities that if reelected, she will continue this life-saving work.
