Assemblywoman Linda Carter has been a lifelong resident of New Jersey and is dedicated to protecting the state she was born and raised.

In the New Jersey General Assembly, Assemblywoman Carter has:
- Advocated for A5346, legislation that establishes responsible State procurement practices for firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories — helping ensure taxpayer dollars are not spent at gun dealers who may break the law
- Fought for A4975, legislation that makes it a crime to possess digital instructions to illegally manufacture firearms and firearm components
- Supported legislation to implement firearm microstamping, a revolutionary technology that marks bullets to aid law enforcement in tracing guns recovered from crimes and solving homicide cases
