Since joining the New Jersey General Assembly in 2018, Assemblywoman Lisa Swain has consistently championed gun violence prevention.
Like far too many, Assemblywoman Swain knows her constituents are sick and tired of having to face the possibility of gun violence in their daily lives. That’s why she is fighting to uphold New Jersey’s legacy as a leader in gun violence prevention.
In the New Jersey General Assembly, Assemblywoman Swain has:
- Been a prime sponsor for A4974, which establishes criminal penalties for the sale and possession of machine gun conversion devices, addressing the growing threat of these illegal devices that turn semi-automatic weapons into fully automatic firearms
- Advocated to bolster the state’s concealed carry permitting system, banning firearms from sensitive public places, like preschools, playgrounds, parks, and hospitals
- Supported legislation to implement firearm microstamping, a revolutionary technology that marks bullets to aid law enforcement in tracing guns recovered from crimes and solving homicide cases
