As a proud Houstonian, Rep. Lizzie Fletcher has promised to fight to protect Texas communities.
Like far too many other areas of our country, Rep. Fletcher’s district has seen the impact of gun violence first-hand. She knows that to end the gun violence epidemic, Texas will have to address the root causes of gun violence and hold the gun industry accountable.
Rep. Fletcher said:
Gun violence in America doesn’t have to be inevitable. We can prevent gun violence with thoughtful, data-driven, common-sense policy solutions.
In Congress, Rep. Fletcher voted for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the Enhanced Background Checks Act, which would close the Charleston Loophole, and has voted to fund gun violence prevention research. She also co-sponsored the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022, and the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act.
