Delegate Marcus Simon has been a champion of gun violence prevention in the Virginia legislature.
As chair of the Public Safety Committee, he has worked tirelessly to protect Virginia communities and ensure everyone has the right to live free from gun violence. Every year, over 1,300 Virginians are killed by gun violence — and Delegate Simon is fighting to change that.
Since his first term, Delegate Simon:
- Supported legislation to require universal Brady Background Checks
- Was the first Virginia legislator to champion legislation to ban ghost guns
- Authored legislation that would protect Virginia children by bolstering secure storage laws
Simon said:
Parents should be able to send their kids to school without worrying about if they’ll make it home at the end of every day. We must strengthen our law enforcement agencies and our community intervention programs to ensure that the gun violence epidemic does not continue to spread.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Virginia Delegate Simon in his campaign to represent the 13th District in the Virginia House of Delegates.
