Rep. Marcy Kaptur has been fighting for gun violence prevention for over 40 years.
In 2022, Rep. Kaptur voted for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first piece of federal gun violence prevention legislation signed into law since the Brady Bill nearly 30 years earlier — which she also voted in favor of.
During her time in Congress, Rep. Kaptur has introduced the IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act, bipartisan legislation that would create a $300 tax credit for parents who purchase secure gun storage devices for their home. Each day in America, 8 kids and teens are unintentionally shot and injured or killed by an unsecured firearm in the home. This legislation would help keep guns out of the hands of children, helping to end family fire.
