Mia Bonta

Assemblymember Mia Bonta has seen firsthand how systems in California have failed her community – and she is running for reelection to change these systems.

Assemblymember Bonta worked for twenty years in nonprofits, serving her community with dedication before becoming a member of the California General Assembly. She was elected to the Alameda Unified School District School Board, served as board member of an anti-poverty organization, Community Change Action, and is a member of the Alameda Free Library Foundation. This breadth of experience means that Assemblymember Bonta has seen the complexities of gun violence in her community, and she is prepared to find a comprehensive solution to end the gun violence epidemic.

Assemblymember Bonta said:

It is past time we recognize gun violence for the public health crisis it is. I pushed for this shortly after being elected to the Assembly, and our state led the way with the Office of Gun Violence Prevention. I'm hopeful that, as a nation, we can move forward with saving lives.

Assemblymember Bonta has relentlessly pushed and supported legislation to protect California communities. The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse her in her campaign to represent the 18th California Assembly District.
