In the New York State Assembly, Lasher has helped write sweeping gun safety legislation, including background checks for ammunition purchases, new license requirements for gun purchases, and expanded extreme risk laws. In Congress, Micah has promised to support universal background checks, reinstate the ban on assault weapons, support national extreme risk protection laws, and more.

I've spent nearly two decades fighting for and delivering stronger gun laws, from my work with Mayor Bloomberg and Gov. Hochul, to my service on the board of Everytown, to my time in the Assembly. In Congress, I’ll fight for universal background checks for all gun sales, an assault weapons ban, and the enactment of a national Red Flag law.
