Delegate Jones is a pastor and father who advocates for the safety of his community.
During the 2024 legislative session, Delegate Jones advanced one of only two gun violence prevention bills that were not vetoed by the governor, banning Glock switches (also known as auto sears), which are devices that convert semi-automatic weapons into fully-automatic firearms.
While in office, Delegate Jones:
- Authored legislation to ban trigger activators – devices that turn firearms into automatic weapons
- Helped improve and invest in implementation of extreme risk laws, which temporarily remove firearms from a person in crisis
- Fought to ban assault weapons and large-capacity magazines
Delegate Jones said:
Gun violence is a uniquely American problem. We must confront this public health and safety crisis with courage and conviction.
