First serving Cook County as a Commissioner, Rep. Quigley has a proven record and knows what it takes to increase government efficiency for the American people. In 2011, Rep. Quigley cosponsored an amendment to the Patriot Act, which would bar individuals from the FBI Terrorist Watch List from purchasing firearms. In addition, he has supported universal background checks, increased regulation on assault weapons and large capacity magazines, implementing buy back programs, and tougher regulation on gun trafficking across state lines.

During the 117th Congress, Rep. Quigley joined 226 other colleagues in supporting the passage ofBipartisan Background Checks Act. In the 118th Congress, Representative Quigley became the Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, showcasing his steadfast commitment to gun violence prevention.
