Rep. Nellie Pou made history becoming the first Latina elected to Congress in New Jersey, and since then, she has made it a priority to fight for her constituents.
Rep. Pou has shown a deep commitment to protecting New Jersey from gun violence. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Rep. Pou has supported many life-saving solutions to end the gun violence epidemic, including universal background checks, safe storage requirements, and an assault weapons and large-capacity magazines ban.
During the 119th Congress, Rep. Pou also sponsored the Crime Gun Tracing Modernization Act (H.R. 6223), which will help the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) electronically search crime gun sales records, helping speed up investigations and solve firearm homicide cases.
