Patrick Hope

As a legislator and father, gun violence prevention is one of the most important issues for Virginia State Delegate Patrick Hope. 

He has been a champion of gun violence prevention in Virginia, protecting the communities he serves as a leader on the House Public Safety Committee. 

Delegate Hope has authored legislation to: 

1. Require a permit to obtain a firearm, which would help reduce gun homicide and firearm suicide
2. Prohibit a person from purchasing a firearm following assault and battery or a stalking violation
3. Ensure those who want to conceal carry a firearm go through a firearm safety training course
