Rep. Pete Aguilar has demonstrated a deep commitment to protecting California communities from gun violence.
During the 118th Congress, he has sponsored the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2023 (H.R. 3018), which would establish grant programs to support the implementation of extreme risk protection orders — life-saving tools to temporarily remove firearms from those who pose a threat to themselves or those around them.
Rep. Aguilar said:
Keeping guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, convicted felons and terrorists will make our communities safer without infringing on responsible gun owners’ right to bear arms. Limiting assault weapons in our communities also is a commonsense measure to reduce gun violence.
Rep. Aguilar has also cosponsored the Assault Weapons Ban of 2023 (H.R. 698), the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (H.R. 715), Ethan’s Law (H.R. 660) to mandate safe firearm storage, and more.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Pete Aguilar for reelection to represent California’s 33rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
