Phil Andrew is ready to fight to ensure all families in his district are safe from gun violence.
As a gun violence survivor and a former FBI hostage negotiator, Andrew knows first hand the devastating impacts of this epidemic. That is why he wants to do everything in his power to protect his community from senseless violence.
In the aftermath of the 1988 Wilmette mass shooting, where Andrew was shot in the chest and injured, he began working to prevent what nearly ended his life from hurting anyone else. While in law school, he served as the executive director of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. He now leads the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Violence Prevention Initiatives and is the principal of PAX Group, a risk preparation, crisis, and conflict resolution agency. Andrew looks to bring these experiences to the U.S. House of Representatives to help end gun violence in America.
