Rep. Donna Shalala
Election: lost
U.S. House of Representatives - Incumbent
Florida - 27

As a former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Rep. Donna Shalala was honored to work with Sarah Brady to pass the Brady Bill. Gun violence prevention has been a priority issue for Rep. Shalala throughout her career. She was part of the effort to pass the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and knows we can achieve this kind of progress again. Rep. Shalala believes we need mandatory and comprehensive background checks, assault weapons and high-capacity magazine bans, and extreme risk laws to keep our communities safe.

"Gun violence is an epidemic in the United States. Every day, we face more loss of life and more heartbreak. As long as I am in Congress, I will work to keep Americans safe and prevent guns from falling into the wrong hands."
