Rep. Matt Cartwright has made his commitment to keep all Americans safe from gun violence clear in Congress. He is an active leader within the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and has worked to pass common-sense laws to protect the lives of his constituents. A gun owner himself, Rep. Cartwright understands the need for basic reforms, like expanding and strengthening the Brady Background Check System, to keep firearms out of the hands of people who are prohibited by law from possessing them. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, his support was critical to funding gun violence prevention research and for increasing the resources for both the National Instant Criminal Background Check System and the ATF.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Cartwright for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
