Ruben Gallego

The men and women who serve in our armed forces understand sacrifice. They understand partnership. And, they understand the responsibility required to own and handle a firearm.

Rep. Gallego, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, has proven that. During his time in Congress, he has shown these qualities, working tirelessly on behalf of their constituents and across the aisle to address gun violence in their districts and across our country.

In the U.S. House, he co-sponsored the Multiple Firearm Sales Reporting Modernization Act of 2023 (H.R. 4202), which would require Federal firearms licensees to report sales of two or more handguns to the same unlicensed person within five consecutive business days, and the Raise the Age Act of 2023 (H.R. 2870), which would raise the age to purchase a semi-automatic weapon to 21.

Rep. Ruben Gallego said:

It is unconscionable that our nation has allowed the epidemic of gun violence to exist for this long. House Democrats will not wait around, and today we approved meaningful solutions to put an end to these shootings.

The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Ruben Gallego to serve as Arizona’s senator.
