Rep. Sarah McBride has proudly worked to support and protect Delaware communities.
Gun violence prevention is a main issue for Rep. McBride. While a member of the Delaware State Senate, she helped ban assault weapons in Delaware and passed the most significant gun safety package in the state’s history. In Congress, McBride also promised to continue this work and strengthen background checks, ban assault weapons, and institute safeguards to prevent dangerous individuals from getting guns.
Rep. McBride said:
Few policies are more urgent and high stakes than gun safety policies. Gun violence has become the leading cause of death for American children. That is not freedom—it is failure.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community – the first openly transgender member ever elected to the US House – Rep. McBride has also worked tirelessly to protect vulnerable communities in Delaware, who often face higher and disproportionate rates of gun violence. She is a champion for communities in Delaware and will continue to fight for them.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. McBride to represent Delaware’s at-large Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
