Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee
Election: won
U.S. House of Representatives - Incumbent
Texas - 18

The U.S. House of Representatives passed two, bipartisan gun violence prevention bills, H.R.8 and H.R.1112, reinforcing how important addressing our gun violence epidemic is to the American people. Under the steady guidance of Chairman Mike Thompson, the leadership of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Reps. Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Marc Veasey (TX-33), Robin Kelly (IL-02), Grace Napolitano (CA-32), Ed Perlmutter (CO-07), Bobby Scott (VA-03) and Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18) are instrumental in that effort. Because of their tenacity and dedication, we have secured the first federal funding to study gun violence in over 20 years, as well as passing legislation to update the lifesaving Brady Background Check System for the first time in a generation.
