A former active-duty Air Force officer and member of the Congressional Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention, Rep. Ted Lieu has consistently backed commonsense measures to reduce gun violence and keep communities safe.
Rep. Lieu spoke on the House floor in support of the Protecting Our Kids Act, a comprehensive package of gun violence prevention proposals aimed at stopping the spread of gun-related crimes and preventing future mass casualty shootings. In 2022, he voted to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, calling it a commonsense, bipartisan step to reduce the threat of gun violence and save lives.
Rep. Lieu said:
Nearly 40,000 Americans lose their lives each year because of gun violence. We can’t afford to make this a partisan issue. Enough is enough.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Lieu for reelection to represent California’s 36th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
