Rep. Tom Suozzi has had a long public service career and has been dedicated to making New York communities safer.
He has helped sponsor gun buyback programs, taking over 1,000 illegal guns off the street, and supported universal Brady Background checks and an assault weapons ban.

I’m proud of my F-rating from the NRA. We see these violent acts with guns happening much too often. It’s not only the tragedy that splits families apart. It’s not only the deaths that take place. It’s about public safety.
During his time as a public servant, New York has become one of the leaders in gun violence prevention. Rep. Suozzi intends to continue on that path, protecting gun violence prevention laws already in place, and continuing to pass new laws to protect his community in Nassau County.
