Rep. Wesley Bell has seen the devastation caused by gun violence in his community.
While working as a prosecuting attorney, Bell worked to implement community violence prevention programs. He created a Community Outreach Division, implemented a violence reduction strategy that focuses on evidence-based approaches to reduce crime, invested in community programs that provide opportunities for youth and other at-risk individuals, and more.
Rep. Bell has brought that same dedication to ending gun violence while serving Missouri in Congress. As a member of the Congressional Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, he has fought for expanded Brady Background Checks, banning assault weapons, and more.
Bell said:
It is critical that we pass these laws in order to improve public safety. Gun violence is the single most preventable issue that our country is facing.
The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Rep. Bell to represent Missouri’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
