Gun violence prevention has been one of Rep. Zoe Lofgren’s leading campaign issues.
While in Congress, Rep. Lofgren co-introduced the Advancing Gun Safety Technology Act (H.R. 6697), a bill that would help bring life-saving gun safety technology to the consumer market. Rep. Lofgren has cosponsored a number of bills to support common-sense reforms to ensure all Americans are safe from gun violence, including legislation to ban assault weapons, expand Brady Background Checks, and support the implementation of extreme risk laws.
Rep. Lofgren said:

Rep. Lofgren was a key member of the House Select Committee to investigate the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol and is committed to opposing the Trump administration’s efforts to eliminate gun violence prevention measures. Notably, she supports creating a Select Committee on Gun Violence Prevention in the House and strengthening the Brady Background Check system for gun sales.
