Brady Campaign Endorses Nancy Goroff for the U.S. House of Representatives

Washington, D.C., September 4, 2020 - Today, the Brady Campaign endorsed Nancy Goroff in her campaign for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Brady Campaign President Kris Brown shared:

“Nancy Goroff is a strong and clear gun violence prevention champion. She understands that gun violence is a national problem that affects many communities. It’s why she supports policies like a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines, as well as requiring universal background checks. Goroff knows that these are policies that will keep all Americans safe and are policies that a majority of Americans want. The residents of New York’s first congressional district deserve a representative who will not hesitate to put them first, instead of one who prioritizes gun industry profits. Brady is proud to endorse Nancy Goroff for election to the U.S. House of Representatives."

Nancy Goroff shared:

"I am thrilled to have earned the support of the Brady Campaign. While my NRA-endorsed opponent is a co-sponsor of the conceal-and-carry reciprocity bill in the House — which would allow the gun laws of Oklahoma to become the law of the land in NY — I am excited to partner with the Brady Campaign to promote common-sense gun safety reforms to protect our communities here in Suffolk. Too many Americans have lost their lives or their loved ones too soon and had their lives irrevocably changed because of senseless gun violence that could have been prevented. We can and should do better, and I am proud to take a stand for safe and sensible gun safety measures that will save countless lives."

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
