Brady Endorses Brynne Kennedy for Congress: A Strong and Informed Voice

Washington, D.C., March 12, 2020 - Today, Brady endorsed Brynne Kennedy to represent California’s 4th District in the United States House of Representatives.

Brady President Kris Brown stated:

“Brynne Kennedy brings a strong private sector track record and a clear understanding of the pressing issues facing our country. Her commitment to improving public safety by enacting common-sense gun violence prevention laws reflects this awareness. We need her strong and informed voice in Congress. Brady is proud to endorse Brynne Kennedy for Congress.”

As a business leader, Kennedy has experience leading teams to achieve shared goals. She brings ample experience as a company founder and CEO, as well as a wealth of knowledge of infrastructure and technology. Her understanding of complex issues is clearly reflected in her commitment to preventing gun violence. She has seen the continued and increasing trauma inflicted by mass shootings and the threat posed to our children and teens. She supports common-sense policies like expanding and strengthening federal background checks and instituting extreme risk protection orders, sometimes called “red flag laws.”

Brady California Legislation and Policy Chair Amanda Wilcox shared:

“Brynne Kennedy is an informed voice in the effort to prevent gun violence. She understands that common-sense gun safety policies are public safety policies. They make our state and our communities safer. She will bring that same perspective to Washington to represent the people of California’s fourth district. We need a champion for these policies. We need to send Brynne Kennedy to Congress."

Kennedy shared:

“The idea that you are either for subverting the Second Amendment or doing nothing is a false choice we must reject. I support the right to bear arms and our goal must be to protect the individual rights while reducing public safety risks. To promote the dual goals of public safety and responsible gun ownership, we should enact universal background checks and so-called red flag laws without delay.”

Given the urgent need for federal action to reform our nation’s gun laws and to reduce gun violence, Brady will continue to issue endorsements for the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate and state and local offices ahead of the 2020 elections.
