Brady Endorses Rep. Adam Schiff for Re-Election

Washington D.C., July 16 2020 - Today, the Brady Campaign endorsed Rep. Adam Schiff (CA-28) in his bid for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020.

Brady Campaign President Kris Brown shared:

“Rep. Adam Schiff continues to demonstrate his commitment to protect Americans from gun violence. During the 116th Congress, Rep. Schiff has worked to hold gun manufacturers accountable, reintroducing H.R. 3214, the Equal Access to Justice For Victims of Gun Violence Act, which would repeal special legal protections for the gun industry. He has committed to ensuring the safety of all Americans, co-sponsoring H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, H.R 1296, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, and H.R. 1236, the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019. Rep. Schiff understands that the complexities of gun violence requires comprehensive fixes. Brady is proud to endorse Rep. Adam Schiff for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Rep. Adam Schiff said:

“I'm proud of my F rating from the NRA, but even more proud to be endorsed by the Brady Campaign, with its history of effective advocacy to curb gun violence and make our communities safer. Candidates up and down the ballot must show the voters that they are willing to stand up to the gun lobby and that gun reform is a winning issue, worth organizing around and voting on. With the help of the Brady Campaign, we will elect more gun sense candidates at all levels of government in November, and finally pass needed legislation like universal background checks and repealing the gun industry's liability shield to make our communities safer.”

Brady is grateful for Rep. Schiff’s leadership in Congress and in the effort to pass common-sense gun violence prevention policies. Brady is proud to endorse Rep. Adam Schiff for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.
