Brady Endorses Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) for Re-Election

Washington, D.C., March 5, 2020 - Today, Brady endorsed Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) in his campaign for re-election in 2020.

Brady President Kris Brown explained:

“Rep. Dean campaigned on common-sense and bipartisan gun violence prevention solutions. In Congress, he has delivered on that commitment, voting on H.R.8 and H.R.1112, the two bipartisan gun safety bills that passed the U.S. House of Representatives in February 2019. He has shown that he understands this pressing issue and is willing to act. Brady is proud to endorse Rep. Dean Phillips for re-election.”

Since taking office in January 2019, Rep. Phillips has worked across party lines to pass needed gun violence prevention bills. As a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Rep. Phillips helped in the effort to pass H.R.8 and H.R.1112, as well as secure the first funding for federal research into gun violence in over 20 years.

Rep. Phillips shared:

"Thoughts and tweets don't save lives, ACTION saves lives. To that end, I'm honored to be endorsed by Brady. Few groups have been as active as Brady in ending gun violence, and their tireless work is needed now more than ever. I can't wait to continue to work with them to implement policies that work in communities across our country."

Given the urgent need for federal action to reform our nation’s gun laws and to reduce gun violence, Brady will continue to issue endorsements for the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate and state and local offices ahead of the 2020 elections.
