Brady Endorses Rep. Katie Porter (CA-45) for Re-Election

Washington, D.C., February 13, 2020 - Today Brady endorsed Rep. Katie Porter (CA-45) in her campaign for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020.

Brady President Kris Brown shared:

“Since arriving in Congress in 2019, Rep. Porter has demonstrated that she understands and is willing to address our nation’s most pressing problems, including gun violence. Rep. Porter has endorsed and helped to pass the common-sense gun safety legislation that the 116th Congress has sent to the Senate. We need her continued leadership in Washington. Brady is proud to endorse Rep. Porter for re-election.”

Rep. Porter has made gun violence prevention a key issue. From focusing on the importance of preventing gun violence in one of her first speeches on the House floor to co-sponsoring H.R.8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, she has been a consistent champion of addressing the gun violence epidemic.

Rep. Porter shared:

"I am honored to have the endorsement of Brady. With their support and advocacy, I will continue to fight for a ban on assault weapons, mandatory background checks on gun sales, and policies that encourage safe gun storage. Orange County families, like mine, value the safety of our communities. Preventing gun violence honors our shared values."

Given the urgent need for federal action to reform our nation’s gun laws and to reduce gun violence, Brady will continue to issue endorsements for the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate and state and local offices ahead of the 2020 elections.
