Washington D.C., August 14, 2020--The Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Representative Jim McGovern (MA-02) for reelection to the United States House of Representatives. Rep. McGovern has been a critical member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, and personifies the leadership necessary to address gun violence.

"Rep. Jim McGovern is a gun violence prevention champion. In Congress, he has led efforts to establish a Select Committee on Gun Violence Prevention, and as Chairman of the Rules Committee shepherded strong bipartisan gun safety legislation to the House floor. He is a co-sponsor of H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, H.R 1296, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, and H.R. 1236, the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019, bills that will save the lives of many Americans. If there is to be any amount of continued, meaningful progress in this movement, we need to send strong representatives, such as Rep. McGovern, back to Congress. Brady is proud to endorse Rep.
