Washington, D.C., September 30, 2020 - Today, the Brady Campaign endorsed Georgia State Senator Nikema Williams in her campaign for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Brady Campaign President Kris Brown shared:
“Sen. Nikema Williams is a relentless advocate and powerful voice for Georgia’s marginalized communities and those most impacted by gun violence. Sen. Williams’ experience, passion, and dedication are critically needed in the U.S. House of Representatives, particularly in the seat formerly occupied by the late Rep. John Lewis. She will be that leader for Georgians and for all Americans. Sen. Williams’ unwavering dedication to common-sense gun violence prevention, especially programs that will address root causes of gun violence in disproportionately impacted communities, are sorely needed in Washington. Brady is proud to endorse Sen. Nikema Williams for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Nikema Williams shared:
"I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the Brady Campaign in my run to represent the people of Georgia’s 5th Congressional District. In Congress, I will continue to be a champion for common sense gun safety and fight to ensure the safety of our families."
Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
