Brady and Morning Consult Release New Polling Data On the Role of Gun Violence Prevention in the Upcoming Election

The July 2024 Brady and Morning Consult poll found that 

  • Gun violence is the third most pressing issue to address in the U.S. behind the economy and immigration
  • 85% of U.S. adults believe gun violence is a problem in the U.S.
  • A minority (45%) of U.S. adults support teachers carrying concealed firearms at school
  • 64% of adults agree — including 45% who strongly agree — that “assault-style weapons like the one used in the assassination attempt should not be readily available to civilians”
