Vice President Biden Displays Bold Leadership in Final Presidential Debate

Washington, D.C., October 22, 2020 - Following the final 2020 Presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, the Brady Campaign reaffirms that there is only one candidate who is prepared to protect all Americans and motivated to safeguard our democracy. Vice President Joe Biden is ready to be President, and he again showed that he will urgently address the many challenges facing America, from coronavirus to racial injustice to gun violence. Standing in stark contrast to the erratic, divisive rhetoric of President Trump, Vice President Biden’s plans demonstrated empathetic leadership and that he is ready to lead on day one.

Brady Campaign President Kris Brown shared:

“In less than two weeks, Americans will choose our path forward, and our options could not be more distinct. We can choose four more years of the race-baiting rants, selfish governance, and moral ineptitude of Donald Trump, or we can opt for the brighter path Vice President Biden offered in tonight’s debate. We can choose a president who exudes empathy, who will protect and strengthen our democratic institutions, and who prioritizes the safety of all Americans.

As Vice President Biden said, the character of the country is on the ballot.

Vice President Biden will be a president who will bring us back on the path of progress—toward a fairer society, a more democratic system, and a safer future. He showed in the debate tonight that he is beyond capable of being the steadfast leader we need to end the gun violence epidemic.”

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
