Washington D.C., August 7, 2020 - Today, the Brady Campaign is proud to endorse Mondaire Jones in his campaign to represent New York’s 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Brady President Kris Brown shared:
“Mondaire Jones is a proven leader and activist who understands the need for federal action to prevent gun violence. Jones’ long history of working for his community even from a young age -- championing school funding, registering voters in his hometown, and establishing a non-profit to empower students with professional skills -- demonstrates his enduring commitment to the important, community-based lens that we should be approaching our nation’s most pressing issues through. Jones is committed to protecting our democracy, pledging to co-sponsor H.R. 1, the For the People Act, which expands Americans' access to the ballot box and eliminates ‘dark money’ in elections from special interest groups like the NRA. Jones has similarly called on Americans' to recognize all forms of gun violence, including police violence. We need his comprehensive and thoughtful leadership in Congress. Brady is proud to endorse Mondaire Jones for the United State House of Representatives.”
