Help Elect Gun Violence Prevention Champions in Virginia
Gun Violence Prevention Is on the Ballot in Virginia
All eyes are on Virginia. We have the chance to oust elected officials beholden to the gun industry and replace them with gun violence prevention champions who will prioritize life-saving solutions. Learn more about our candidates and help us make Virginia a gun violence prevention majority state!
In 2024 and 2025, the Youngkin-Sears administration vetoed nearly 40 common-sense gun violence prevention bills. These bills weren’t about politics; they were about saving lives by promoting secure gun storage, expanding background checks, and banning uniquely deadly weapons like ghost guns.
And even as guns became the leading cause of death for children and teens in Virginia under the current administration, Governor Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor Sears, and dozens of members of the Virginia House of Delegates decided to side with the gun lobby instead of supporting bills that the majority of Virginians want.
We’re saying ENOUGH.
Lawmakers who stalled our progress are on the ballot again, and we refuse to let them block our progress any longer. We have candidates who will help pass stronger gun laws instead of opposing them, including gun violence prevention champions like former U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger for Governor and Virginia State Senator Ghazala Hashmi for Lieutenant Governor. Their leadership is needed in Richmond now more than ever — especially as the Trump administration continues to attack our life-saving progress on gun violence prevention nationwide.
